2020 Moving Onward and Upward
COVID CAN'T DEFEAT SKY HIGH DANCE, THEATRE AND MUSIC!
To all our supporters, we hope you are currently staying safe and well during these turbulent times.
With our current shows currently postponed, and our craving for cultural highs currently denied due to the lockdown surrounding the current pandemic, we have found alternative ways to bring sky high dance, theatre and music to you- bringing the magic of Yskynna to you in the comfort of your own homes.
Over the next six months several chapters of Yskynna's daring work will be released online in an ongoing programme of special digital, bite-sized dance and storytelling events. The first to be released TODAY is the quite literally moving and sky-high performance of 'Bligh Spirit', developed in response to the popular exhibition 'Captain Bligh: Myth, Man and Mutiny' at the National Maritime Museum in Falmouth, Cornwall. Originally created to occur whilst scaling the 26m high Lookout Tower in 2017, this epic performance is a hybrid of song, poetry, sea shanties and awe-inspiring dance inspired by the life of Captain Bligh.
We have a selection of videos over on our Youtube channel, exploring the behind the scenes aspects of 'Bligh Spirit', and giving a taste of the show. Just click the links for a trip down memory lane!
